So much for the cookies... I brought cookies to a high school in Pflugerville to go along with my resume. The position is no longer listed as vacant. I guess my chocolate chip cookies weren't as good as Ryan thought! (Didn't stop him from finishing off the batch)
I'm starting to shop around for a part-time job... a Plan B.
Nonna flew out, yesterday. We had a good visit. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and her kid's kids. Now she is visiting her mom and siblings. We'll see her again at my sister's wedding in August.
Nonna bought a house! Ryan, Korbin and I will live in it for a few years and fix it up (Nonna retires in 5 years). We'll get a good deal on rent... since we are working our butts off with projects around the house. It'll be nice to have a backyard and an extra room for the computers. We look forward to moving in (probably in September/October).
Yesterday, we had our 12 month post-adoption review for Korbin. It's amazing how fast time flies! The social worker was VERY pleased with his attachment (since he clasped on to me and wouldn't let go for the first 10 minutes). He recognized her as a stranger and didn't approach her until 20 minutes into the review. She said he is doing very well and that his tidiness is common for children that have been in orphanages. Interesting.
Side Note: She told us NOT to potty train him for a while... like another year! DANG! I was gonna start in a few weeks. :( She said that since he is so "orderly and controlling" about his environment he might freak out and want to "control" the potty training as well. She said it could be a disaster and not to push the issue.
Korbin says: Uh-Ooooooo, Mama, Dada, Yaaaa (for yuck), Moa (more).
He has also created new signs for "dip" (gotta have dip to make things taste better), "cat treat" and "wash hands".
