I woke up early on Saturday morning to go take my TExES Art EC-12 Teacher Certification test. I was shocked to see a parking lot full of cars! There must have been at least 300 people there taking tests (only 5 of us taking the Art test). Overall, I think I did well. There were only a few questions that I really had to guess on. The rest I was able to at least narrow it down to two choices... It was a very difficult test to study for! It covered everything from cave paintings to contemporary art. Art techniques and vocabulary for sculpture, ceramics, metals, jewelry, painting, paper mache, weaving, textiles, graphic design, photography and more. It also asked questions about specific artists and art movements. Pretty broad! Glad that is over.
Then, Ryan and Korbin picked me up from the test and we headed straight to Denton so that I could shoot a friend's reception. Thinking about wedding photography and studying for the test kept me up several nights last week. We stopped in Arlington so that I could rent a flash and bracket from Arlington Camera (awesome photography store).
We dropped Korbin off at Gramma & Grandpa's house and left for the reception site (same place we were married 4 years ago).
Things went really well. I was exhausted after taking over 800 photos and my arms were sore from holding up the monstrous camera & flash unit. :) It really made me look like a pro! hahaRuss Parks was the groom. We know him from Sid Richardson summer camp. He worked with Ryan at the pool.
The next day we left Denton around 11am. We stopped in Waco to visit Melissa and Caleb (15 months old). She was nice enough to let us barge in on a lunch with her mom & step-dad. Finally, we were home around 5pm on Sunday.
Quick pizza for dinner, bath for Korbin and a relaxing evening. I started working on the 1500 images from the wedding (Heather McFadden assisted me and shot as much as I did!).Side note:
Korbin has been in a REALLY good mood these past few days. He's been very happy and laughing a lot. Here is a short video from lunch. I was making faces at him (and I guess waving my arms around a bit....)
