Korbin is 22 months old today! Growing up so fast. His new favorite thing is his hat! He can't go outside without it! :) So cute. Korbin and Ryan stayed home for a little father-son weekend while I went to the beach. They had a nice relaxing time... and ate out every meal, except breakfast!
I met up with some friends from college. Carilee is moving closer to San Antonio in a few weeks, so we thought we'd take advantage of her close-to-Corpus location for the weekend. We stayed up late, relaxed, played games and drank all the beer in her fridge (the good stuff anyway). :) Saturday we spent a few hours at the beach. The water was nice.
Sunday we went to the Texas State Aquarium. My friend Lisa volunteers there on Sundays. We watched the dolphin show and then she took me backstage (I felt bad that she couldn't take us all). I was able to interact with one of the dolphins (they have three). I learned about the dolphin, touched him, fed him, gave him a command and a kiss! Awesome. :) Thank you, Lisa!!! Fun dolphin facts (found online):
- A dolphin's dorsal fin is as distinctive as a person's face.
- Dolphins can jump as high as 20 feet out of the water.
- Some dolphin species can swim up to 25 miles an hour for long periods, more than three times faster than the best human swimmers.
- In the wild, dolphins can live to be 50 years old, although the average age is 17 years.
- Dolphins swallow fish whole, despite the 100 teeth in their mouths. The teeth are used to grasp prey.

Korbin's 2nd Birthday Party is scheduled for September 6th, 2008. Mark your calendars! I'll send invitations out in late July. :)
