Year One

As 2009 comes to a close I can't help but reflect on all the things that happened this year. Some of those things are not as good as others, but they still helped define the year and shape who we are today. As Ryan and I figure things out we stand in awe of our son, Korbin. The way he has handled the situation and the way he has gracefully adapted to the new lifestyle is astonishing and wonderful. We are so proud of him. He has come to brag about having "two houses" where many children only have one house. And, as long as he has his Monkey so sleep with at night the rest will all fall into place. :)

2009 has been a great year. It's been full of challenges, laughter, tears, sweat and joy. Promotions, moving, new family members born, family members married, graduated and some passed on. We've traveled to far away places and some just down the street. We've made new friends, new homes and new memories. We've volunteered, worked hard and paid bills. We've read books, heard stories and made our own!

Overall, 2009 has been a wonderful year. We've had our highs and our lows, but that is no different from other years past.

I hope that 2010 is just as full of new and exciting things. Butterflies in your tummy kind of things! Either way, it's our job to make of it what we want. And, I want it to be amazing.

I wish that for you, too. Happy New Year!
