Yep, I am leaving for Barcelona on December 21st. Excited is not even close to how I feel about this trip. I am anxious to see how it goes, too. A few months back my boss at work mentioned that we would get the entire week of Christmas off (we were expecting just half day on the 23rd, 24, and 25 off). I had already purchased my tickets to Barcelona, leaving on the 23rd of December. Shortly after this announcement I decided that I would fulfill a small dream of mine to travel alone (yeah, I know, I did travel to Moscow by myself a few years ago, but that was different, I had check-points and an agenda). So, I changed my ticket to the 21st of December and booked a youth hostel for two nights. My mom is keeping her December 24th arrival time. I will have 2 full days alone in Barcelona (because I don't land in Barcelona until December 22nd). Awesome. I've researched a few things, but for the most part, I just want to wander, take photos and relax. I want to enjoy the city's culture, life and people. Save the touristy things for when my mom arrives. :)
Korbin will be spending some time with his Dad and that side of the family. I hope they have a wonderful time.
Someday, when Korbin is older, I will get to show him how beautiful and amazing the world is. I can't wait to take him on a trip to a foreign place. I want to show him what a small place the world is and how to appreciate cultural differences and people from all over!
