October has come and gone... just like that. It's been a crazy month for us. We went to Ohio for a few days, I started a new job, Korbin started daycare and we moved to Cedar Park. Geez. So, FINALLY I have the opportunity to download all the photos off of my camera that I have taken this past month (yeah, quite a few). Please, click on the flickr link to the right and see all the new photos from October!
Korbin is doing well. He is using more and more words. He is also starting to shake his head when we ask him something (if he wants to respond "no"). Before he would just stare and then later cry that that is not what he wanted. He also nods (a lot). He LOVES the park across the street. We have been there at least a dozen times. He loves being outside (still), which at the moment is unfortunate due to the swarms of mosquitos around our house! Every time he sets foot outside he comes in with several bites. It's not fun. Thankfully, he does not mind the bug spray (but, we don't always remember to put it on him until it's too late). Somehow he ended up with a bite on his eyelid! It swelled his eye shut for several hours. Poor guy.
We weighed Korbin, yesterday. He was 25.2 pounds (after dinner). haha. He's definetely growing... he's getting too tall for a lot of his pants, but still unable to keep them up around his waist! He's wearing 18mo - 2T pants (as long as they have elastic all the way around). And, he'll probably move into 3T shirts in a few months... (which we don't much of... hint, hint for xmas presents! haha)
Halloween was fun. We invited my siblings over for a night of trick-or-treating and movie-watching. We took the three kiddos (Winnie the Pooh, Cookie Monster and Adorable Puppy) out around the neighborhood. One block was plenty for the little ones. They got lots of attention and candy after ringing only a few doorbells (Ryan and I also got to meet a few of our neighbors). After we put the kids down for bed (easy) we watched Underworld: Evolution on our brand new 52" 1080p 120hz LCD HDTV (Ryan just dictated that to me). We had a good time and so did the kids. :) Unfortunatly, we weren't able to go on our annual October camping trip. I am very disappointed. With the move and all of us taking turns being sick we just couldn't justify taking the time to go camping (and finding the camping gear in the boxes). Korbin has been sniffling for a few weeks. He'll get better and then get worse (it's not too bad, just a runny nose and occasional cough). I spent the whole weekend in bed 2 weeks ago and Ryan has been on and off, too.
Now, with the holidays quickly approaching we have to get settled in before guests arrive. We've already been asked for a christmas list! Geez. It's all happening so fast! I still need to hit up the stores for clearance halloween stuff (to have for next year). :)
Don't forget: This month is National Adoption Awareness Month!
Spread the word, volunteer, learn something new, change a life... make a child smile... :)
