Just For Fun!

This past week has been busy and fun. We enjoyed a few days of laziness, which gave us a much needed break from all the activities.

The busy week began on Sunday with our out-of-town visitors. Gramma and Grandpa Burke showed up on Sunday morning to spend some time with Korbin. We played in the apartment and then went to Hills Cafe for a really cool lunch. Dinner with Grandpa Morgan at Logan's (only because his grill was broken).

On Monday we went to the Austin Children's Museum. Korbin loves running around and playing with all the interactive displays. He loves the music sculpture and the train set. The Museum is open to only to kids under 3 on Mondays. This really allows kids like Korbin to run around and play with everything at his own pace/height. We had to leave at 10:30am. It was getting packed!

On Tuesday, Korbin and I went to Dick Nichol's Park. It's a great park just down the street. I put Korbin in the stroller and walked the 1 mile trail around the park. Shortly after, Korbin enjoyed playing on the playground for a while. He DID NOT want to leave! (See previous post for his reaction to this early departure). Korbin spent a little too much time playing with the cats (see photo for side-effect). For dinner we enjoyed A LOT of green beans. Yummy! Both Korbin and I couldn't get enough... I think we ate 1.25 pounds of the 2 pound bag (and then finished off the bag the next day)! :)

On Wednesday we met Daddy for lunch at Taco Bell. He has been working extra this week to finish up a project at work. The only time Korbin got to see Daddy was around a meal time (Korbin was in bed before Daddy got home from work). We took dinner to Daddy, too. Chick-fa-lay was what he needed to finish off his work-day strong!

Thursday was a relaxing day. We took dinner to Daddy at work. A nice burger from Whataburger hit the spot. Korbin enjoyed his 5 minutes for the day with his Daddy (the only time he saw him all day!).

On Friday we started the day at the Dino Dig! We met up with some other moms and had a great time digging in the sand. Korbin is getting a lot better at sharing and playing with other kids (whew). Afterwards, we ate lunch at a picnic table. Somehow Korbin got DIRTY during lunch. I was talking to my friend Christin and then glanced over at Korbin to make sure he was doing fine. Well, his face was streaked in dirt! It was hilarious. Korbin enjoyed a nice afternoon bath before his nap! Actually, we both took a nap! :) We had dinner with Grandpa Morgan (and took some Burger King to Daddy at work).

Saturday morning we met up with Grandpa Morgan for a nice Subway lunch ($5 footlongs!). We went to Sam's Club, too. Later that night I went out on a Girl's Night Out with some of the CafeMom ladies. I organized it so that we could meet without the kids around. Only 6 of us showed up, but that didn't stop us from having a great time and staying out until 2am. We went to Opal Divine's.

Sunday morning we went to the Children's Show at Ruta Maya. They had a live band that played music for the kids. It's a great local coffee shop that I'm sure we'll go back to! They have shows for kids every Sunday. On our way home we drove thru many neighborhoods marveling at the beautiful houses! Wow. Hope we win the lottery! :)
