The characters in the movie The Fifth Element, from which we got Korbin's name (Bruce Willis plays a Korbin Dallas), must collect five elements to save the planet earth. The fifth and final element is "love".
Tomorrow is Korbin's third birthday and today is his two-year post-adoption review. Korbin has been in our lives for just under two years now and I can't imagine it any other way. Korbin has brought so much happiness and love to all of our lives. For those of us that are lucky to see him on a regular basis, to those that see him every couple of months, he is a joy and important element in our lives. Even on his toughest "terrible twos" days he is my sunshine and makes me smile. Even when he is testing the boundaries or demanding his way he is my son and I love him so much.
It's hard to believe that two years have passed. That's a ton of blog posts and photos that this website has displayed. So many chuckles and tears. So many wonderful memories.
Tomorrow Korbin turns three. Yes, he is growing up fast. But, at the same time he is growing up at just the right pace. Just when I "miss" something that he used to do he does something new and exciting that makes me happy that we are at this stage in his life.
So, if the element is "love" Korbin has given that to us as much as we have given that to him. Planet earth must be safe. :)
