Happy

What a relief!

Today, Korbin started attending his new daycare, Star Montessori. I was a little worried about his transition into the new school (it took him 3 months before he stopped crying when I dropped him off at his "old" school).

This morning, he cried a bit. Actually, he yanked his hand out of mine and ran for the door yelling "no". He cried when I left. He allowed the teacher to hold him and seemed interested in the toys she was offering him. I snuck out as fast I could.

I showed up at 5:30pm to pick him up. He saw me and smiled. He finished cleaning up the blocks that he was playing with, put the box back on the shelf and then walked briskly towards me with a smile. He reached his arms up as if he wanted me to hold him. I picked him up and he hugged me. Amazing. He held his lunch box while I talked to the teacher and then he sang and danced with me the whole way home in the car. I am still in shock! At his "old" school he would drop everything he was doing and run towards whomever was picking him up. Sometimes crying (I think for joy that we were taking him home).

I am so relieved. Finally, I feel comfortable and happy with his school situation!

Whew.

UPDATE: This morning (day 2) he literally ran towards the school! I can't believe it!

I'm so glad it worked out so well for his first day. Having worked in many daycares when I was younger and having 4.75 of my own, I know how important having good child care is. I hope it keeps going so great. Your fam is so cute.

There is nothing worse than thinking your child isn't comfortable with their school. After all, they spend almost as much time with your child as they do. I am so glad that you have a great fit. Montessori schools are great and really emphasize a well rounded education. Good luck!
