With January coming to a close we have plenty of things in this new year to be grateful for! We are chugging along fairly well, still managing to smile each day and enjoy our time with family and friends.
Ryan got a raise at work! He's coming up on his one-year mark at this company and can already celebrate his second raise! His evaluations go well and everyone at work commends him for his hard work and dedication. Ryan enjoys his job and feels appreciated - which is awesome!
My job is going well, too. The owner of the company started off our all-staff meeting by saying how funny I was [blush]. I have received much appreciation for organizing a weekly sign language class and planning a staff outing (that's where the funny emails came from).
Korbin is moving to his new school on February 9th. The current daycare is sad to see him leave. They constantly tell Ryan and I how "sweet" little Korbin is and how much they are going to miss him. I hope he makes the transition well. Korbin is doing very well with his language. His words are becoming easier to understand and he is repeating sounds throughout the day. He loves to paint, run circles with Mommy in the kitchen, dance, go outside and read books (he REALLY loves books). He's also becoming more independent and often yells "mine".
We went to the park today with Aunty M and Aiden. Ryan was craving food from a restaurant in south Austin so we figured we'd go to one of our favorite parks by our old apartment complex. Aiden practiced his walking (and trying to eat gravel) and Korbin played and showed a lot of interest in the bikes (especially those left unattended). After a trip to the park, and snoring and drooling in the car, Korbin laid down for his first weekend nap of the year.
In other news, my brother has made it to Baghdad (just a few days ago) and reports that his room is in a good location with good internet service. He hopes to be promoted soon (to Major) at which time he will get his own room (right now he has one room mate). I plan on doing some baking today so that I can send a care package.

Hey you changed your title. I'm thinking I know why. Thanks for all the good information.
Love, Nonna.
