The Secret Garden

This weekend we put all our attention on the front yard. We started off the weekend on Saturday morning at a local nursery. We selected a small variety of "low maintenance" plants (mainly bushes) that would look great in the front two flower beds at the house.

Thankfully, it was overcast and not too hot... we spent ALL day outside. We removed everything (except for one small rose bush) from the large flowerbed. Some plants made it and some didn't. We worked until we couldn't work anymore! Korbin was great and kept himself entertained for most of the day in the front yard. He was trying to help as much as he could (we even bought him a small kid-sized shovel). :) So cute.

Saturday night, Aunty M drove up to watch Korbin so that we could go out to a movie. It was a much needed break for Ryan and I.

Sunday morning... back out in the front yard. Ryan finished planting what we had bought on Saturday morning. The front yard looks so good! Next weekend we'll buy the mulch and finish that project.

Aunty M and I went to an Operetta on the UT campus. One of the leads was played by an old friend. I think the last time I saw her I was in 8th grade... something like that. Back in the Germany days... She, Lisa, did a wonderful job! The Operetta was great!

I'll post recent pictures, soon... including before and after yard photos. :)
